Ayurvedic Treatment for Cancer

Recently AIIMS planning to come together with the All India Institute of Ayurveda and the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences to think deeper about ayurvedic treatment for cancer and want to increase the chance of treating cancer with Ayurvedic drugs, which brings a sense of hope to many peoples, who have been turning to Ayurveda for an alternative treatment.

As we all know Ayurveda is a 500 thousand years old traditional healing system that consists of a number of remedies that have been successfully treating various health problems of people for a long time.
Many claims that Ayurveda has the power to treat cancer but because the less scientific research medical experts disagree with it. But still, various health institutes are including Ayurveda in their treatment, along with radiotherapy and chemotherapy to reduce the side effects.

In a study by AIIMS, it is also found that Ayurvedic medicines are reducing the effects on breast cancer patients. Now more research has been started on ancient herbs and natural therapists

  • Amla

Amla is the richest source of Vitamin C and contains quercetin, phyllaemblic compounds, gallic acid, tannins, flavonoids, pectin, and various polyphenolic compounds, making it the king of rejuvenation.

Laboratory test of amla shows the ability to kill and prevent the growth of the cancer cells in the body.

  • Garlic

The bio-active compounds of garlic form with allicin when the bulb is chopped or crushed. In the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC), multinational studies are ongoing across 10 countries that have shown a positive correlation between the consumption of garlic and onion and reduced risk of cancer. Garlic contains sulfur, arginine, flavonoids, and selenium.
Not from India only but the Studies from the US, China, and France have all shown that consumption of garlic is showing less cancer.

Garlic has the anti-bacterial agent with the ability to stop the formation and the second ability is the activation of cancer causing agents.

The World Health Organisation recommends at least 2-5 grams or one bulb of garlic daily for adults.

  • Turmeric
Turmeric is also known as Haldi. On Turmeric number research has been done because it has anti-Cancer properties. Turmeric is curcumin which is a potent antioxidant scavenging free radicals and inhibiting the growth of cancerous cells. Almost 2000 published scientific papers have shown that curcumin has the ability to kill cancer cells while not harming the healthy cells.
  • Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha is used to help the body dealing with stress. Ashwagandha’s anti-cancer bodies were realized about 40 years ago when researchers isolated a crystalline steroidal compound from this herb.

  • Holi Basil
Holi Basil is known as Tulsi in India, tulsi has healing powers. It helps users in building immunity and gives them the power to fight stress. Many studies have shown that the phytochemicals present in tulsi prevented chemically induced lung, liver, oral, and skin cancers by increasing the antioxidant activity, altering gene expressions, killing cancer cells, and preventing the spread of cancer to other cells.
  • Ginger
Ginger has a long history of medical use. Ginger has potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and some have exhibited cancer prevent activity in experimental models. Nowadays there are a number of studies that point towards the cancer prevention and effect of ginger. In a study conducted by the University of Michigan, ginger caused ovarian cancer cells to die. Another study, published in Cancer Prevention Research, showed decreased inflammation of the colon.
